On 15th July 2021, Rizwan Adatia Foundation (RAF) entered into a partnership with GMERS General Hospital in Junagadh district of Gujarat, to set up a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation plant of 960 LPM.
Funded by the Zarina Foundation and RAF-India, this initiative is part of RAF’s humanitarian response in the Junagadh and Porbandar districts of Gujarat to support the district administration in addressing the medical requirements of patients suffering from Covid-19 infection. It is also a commitment by RAF to support the public healthcare system at the district level in tier III towns so that a large segment of the local community could access effective medical treatment locally.
The plant will create additional 270 oxygenated beds in the hospital and help the district administration to fight the menace of COVID and a much anticipated third wave. Such an in-house captive oxygen generation facility would not only address the day-to-day medical oxygen needs of the district hospital but also cater to the critical life-saving support of the GMERS hospital for the next 10 years.
RAF-India had earlier supported Community Health Centres of several blocks of Junagadh district such as Malia Hatina, Mangrol, and Keshod with oxygen cylinders and concentrators, along with a wide range of medical supplies to fight the second wave of Covid-19.
Rizwan Adatia Foundation thanks the Zarina Foundation profusely for its benevolent contribution which is significant both in financial terms to make the creation of this public good possible, and also the large number of people in Junagarh district esp the poor who will benefit from this critical support.
